Installing SATA IDE Gender / Adapter Bidirectional

SATA IDE adapter bidirectional will useful if you have SATA hard disk, but your motherboard doesnt have SATA slot, or if you have IDE / PATA hard disk but not available empty IDE slot in your motherboard. It will convert an IDE hardisk to using SATA slot as driver, and visa versa SATA hardisk as host in IDE slot.

However you must carefully to installing these hardware, there are 4 main parts in SATA IDE adapter (see pictures below)

  1. IDE pin
  2. SATA Pin for IDE for host
  3. SATA Pin for driver
  4. Power pin, using FDD power cable

Installing SATA IDE Adapter Bidirectional

SATA Hardisk to IDE host

This is for plugged in SATA hard disk into motherboard that doesnt have SATA slot.

  1. First plugged in IDE pin (1) into IDE slot in our motherboard.
  2. Plug and connect SATA hardisk data cable from your SATA hardisk into SATA pin (2) in adapter.
  3. Connect adapter power pin (4) into FDD power cable from your PSU.
  4. Dont forget to connect SATA power pin from your SATA hardisk into power cable from PSU.
  5. Turn on your computer and check your SATA HDD in your bios.

IDE Hardisk into SATA

This is for plugged in IDE hard disk into motherboard that doesnt have IDE slot or there are no empty IDE slot available.

  1. First plugged in IDE pin (1) into IDE Hardisk.
  2. Plug and connect SATA cable from your SATA adapter driver (3) into SATA slot in your motherboard.
  3. Connect adapter power pin (4) into FDD power cable from your PSU.
  4. Dont forget to connect IDE hardisk power pin into power cable from PSU.
  5. Turn on your computer and check your IDE HDD in your bios.
