Joomla
Joomla is dynamic portal engine and content management system (CMS). Joomla is one of most popular open source under the GPL license. Joomla has written using PHP, commonly using MySQL databases, and need web server to run.
Joomla had 5 basic element: Component, Module, Mambot (Plug-ins), Language, and Template.
Components
Components are Joomla!’s content elements or applications that are usually displayed in the center of the main content area of a template. This depends on the design of the template in use. Components are core elements of Joomla!’s functionality. These core elements include Banners, Contact, News Feeds, Polls and Web Links. Members of the Joomla! community produce third party Joomla! components on a continuous basis.
Module
Modules in Joomla can always help us to add special functionality or special features to our website. In this article by Joseph LeBlanc, we will see how to create and configure a basic module and centralize data access and output using helper classes. We will also have a look at how to select different display options using layouts.
Mambot
A mambot (new Joomla terminology is “plug-in”) adds capability of some kind to components and modules. The mambot allows you to embed a form within an article or other content item.
Language
Language in Joomla is forming translated to using on Joomla interface includes static texts that are used in the system in various views.
Template
Joomla template is pre ready made design to your Joomla interface. In Joomla we knowing two kind of template, front end template and backend template.

I hosted my new site from powweb, and did a little work on it, then I downloaded joomla and I am navagating through joomla trying to find how to upload my material from powweb? I tried to get into powweb website maker and it doesn’t work… obviously because I downloaded joomla. Now, I also can’t access joomla from powweb, I have to go to the joomla website. If someone could help me out that would be great because i’m very confused!!!!!! This is my first time ever making a site so… speak english! Thanks!
